Wind storm leaves thousands without power in Cowichan Valley

BC Hydro says there are still a few homes in the Cowichan Valley without power after a storm hit southern Vancouver Island over the weekend.
Spokesperson Karla Louwers says at one point on Sunday about 56 hundred people in the valley were impacted by the power outages.
Louwers says if you still don’t have power give BC Hydro a call at 1-888-769-3766 to report the outage.
On a separate note, Cowichan Bay Road is closed due to flooding between the Trans-Canada Highway and Tzouhalem Road. Drivers should use Bench Road as an alternate route.
