Video about ways to kill a teacher wasn't made in Nanaimo

An investigation has revealed that two young students behind a video showing the ways they’d kill a teacher are from Castlegar.
It was initially thought they were from Nanaimo, but an investigation by the Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District and local RCMP determined the video originated elsewhere.
Nanaimo RCMP alerted Castlegar RCMP about the video, which was posted on YouTube on January 12. It showed two boys holding toy guns and discussing how to kill a teacher.
Castlegar RCMP have talked with the two boys and are working with them, their parents, and school officials to understand why they created such a video. The students said it was meant as a joke, but they’ve been told just how inappropriate it was.
Dale Burgos with the Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District says the incident serves as an important reminder, even though it didn’t happen in Nanaimo.
Meanwhile, Kootenay-Columbia School District officials are working with the RCMP to determine how best to respond. Due to the age of the boys, who are 11 and 13 years old, charges will not be pursued.
