The NDP is putting together its own committee on agriculture. They’re calling it the Opposition Standing Committee on Agriculture and Food. The name is a shot at the Clark government, which did away with the legislature’s committee on the topic.
Powell River Sunshine Coast MLA Nicholas Simons is one of the 5 NDP MLAs who will make up the new Committee.
Simons says the NDP is setting up a special website for the committee, and it’s going to tour the province to hear people’s concerns about the government’s agriculture policies.
