Rock of the Woods meeting fuels conversation about concert location

The Sahtlam Fire Hall was packed with a mix of young and old last night for a spirited public meeting about the fate of this year’s edition of Rock of the Woods.
A large majority of the crowd was in Favour of having the music festival in Sahtlam at the end of July, however, some residents were concerned about alcohol, noise, safety and traffic.
Kelly Black is a Rock of the Woods community coordinator.
A few Cowichan Valley Regional District board members, including chair Jon Lefebure, attended the meeting. It will now be up to the CVRD board to decide if the organizers of the multi-day event will be granted a temporary permit.
