NDP chooses candidate for Cowichan-Malahat-Langford
The NDP has chosen its candidate for the new riding of Cowichan Malahat Langford.
Alistair MacGregor won the right to represent the party after three rounds of voting on Sunday in Duncan.
He says he is looking forward to picking up where retireing Nanaimo-Cowichan MP Jean Crowder leaves off.
NDP Leader Tom Mulcair said via a press release, “MacGregor is an excellent addition to the Vancouver Island team.”
The next federal election is scheduled for October, but Prime Minister Stephen Harper could call it earlier.
