The City of Duncan prides itself on being environmentally progressive, so when representatives from David Suzuki’s “Blue Dot Tour” asked Council to support an initiative for a healthy environment it was an easy yes.
Duncan mayor Phil Kent says it meshes well with what they’re already doing.
The declaration says all people have a right to clean air, water and food.
Suzuki is planning a nationwide tour to encourage Canada to change the Charter of Rights and Freedoms to include those rights as well.
