A new trial will begin at the end of November for a Vancouver Island RCMP officer facing charges tied to the shooting of a suspect.
Two years ago, David Pompeo was convicted of aggravated assault for shooting Bill Gillespie during a traffic stop in Chemainus in 2009.
The BC Court of Appeal ordered a new trial last year, and the crown decided to go ahead with a second prosecution. The new trail will start November 25, 2015.
Pompeo worked out of the North Cowichan/Duncan Detachment at the time of the shooting. He is currently with the Nanaimo RCMP.
