Shawnigan Lake residents still waiting for soil dumping permit ruling

Shawnigan Lake residents continue to wait for a decisionĀ about whether or notĀ a permit issued to dumb soil near the lake will be set aside.
BC’s Environmental Appeal Board has been reviewing the evidence presented since last summer, and there has been no word yet as to when a ruling will be made.
The CVRD area director for Shawnigan Lake is Sonia Furstaenau.
The Shawnigan Residents Association is appealing aĀ permitĀ forĀ South Island AggregatesĀ to treat contaminated soil in a quarry pit.
