Knife Wielding Man Arrested at Christmas Light-up

A 35-year old man from Mill Bay faces charges after a person was seen waving a large knife at Duncan’s Christmas light-up celebration.

The North Cowichan-Duncan RCMP says the man was walking amid a group of teenagers.

RCMP officers were patrolling the event on foot and quickly took the suspect into custody at gunpoint.

Police are recommending weapons-related charges against the man.

He’s been released from custody.
