Be more than bystander when it comes to stopping violence against women

A community event Monday evening in Duncan featuring some high-profile professional athletes hopes to encourage people to speak up against domestic violence .

JR Larose and Dean Valli of the BC Lions will be part of the program called “Be More Than a Bystander”.

North Cowichan-Duncan RCMP Inspector Ray Carfantan says as a community we need to look out for each other.

Carfantan says there are plenty of local athletes and sports coaches who continue to show leadership in the community.

The presentation begins at 6pm at the Quamichan Campus Theatre on Beverly St.
