Elderly Lake Cowichan man airlifted to hospital after crash on Highway 18

A 72-year-old Lake Cowichan man has been hospitalized with serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday around 3:30 PM.

Sgt. Chris Swain speaks for the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP detachment.

Swain says the driver of the blue car had to be air lifted to a Victoria hospital, while a man and women in the pick-up truck were sent to Cowichan District Hospital with minor injuries.

He says the older man’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Swain adds the couple from Sooke has since been released from hospital.
