Major intersection work in Duncan to start March 12th

A note from the City of Duncan.

That big construction project at the Ingram Street/Canada Avenue intersection is getting underway March 12th.

The city earmarked the intersection for upgrades, in part, because of safety concerns.

The million-dollar plus project will include repaving, new traffic signals and street lighting, wider sidewalks, and bike lanes on Canada Avenue.

The City is also planning some work on water and sewer lines.

The work will mean some detours and road closures.

It should be finished by mid-June.

Here are the details on the traffic impacts:

‐ Southbound traffic on Canada Avenue will maintained throughout the project.
‐ Northbound traffic on Canada Avenue will be closed between Government & Ingram.
‐ Downtown access from Trunk Road, Allenby, and Government Streets will be via Craig, Jubilee, and Boundary Streets.
‐ The Northbound Canada Avenue Bus Station is temporarily located on Duncan Street.
‐ Downtown access from Queens Road, Jubilee Street, Ingram Street and Canada Avenue Southbound will not be affected other than some additional traffic congestion.
