North Cowichan had 456 animal control complaints in 2014

Coastal Animal Control Services had its fair share of hairy situations in North Cowichan last year.

Mayor Jon Lefebure says the company’s CEO, Trevor Hughes, told Council they dealt with 456 complaints, most of which involved dogs and even one case of loose chickens.

He says an idea to potentially save money was also brought up by the City of Duncan at the meeting.

Lefebure says the idea was shut down pretty fast as Hughes told them the company is already working in both areas and needs the money to pay for business costs.
