Duncan says yard waste pick ups off to a great start

The City of Duncan says it looks like more people are taking advantage of yard waste pick-ups this season.

They say nearly 150 households put out material in the first week of the program, amounting to nearly 3 tonnes of yard waste and almost 1 tonne of glass.

City officials say that means a lot fewer trips to Bing’s Creek for homeowners.

“The City is pleased to offer this service to our citizens and are happy to see the increase in participation. I encourage even more residents to participate in the months to come,” says Mayor Phil Kent.

Yard waste and glass are eligible for pick up on the first garbage or recycling day of each month for the rest of the year.
