Consultant hired, design and costing work begins on new RCMP HQ

Plans for a new RCMP detachment in North Cowichan are starting to take form.

Mayor Jon Lefebure says Council has unanimously agreed to bring in Process Four Design, to help come up with a strategy for a building that will cost millions.

Lefebure says that’s a small fee in the long run when dealing with what could be the largest infrastructure project in North Cowichan for years to come.

He says the design could be ready by the end of 2015 and he’s hoping construction can start at Drinkwater and Ford Roads by 2016/17.
