Island-based medical marijuana producer issues recall

A Vancouver Island medical marijuana company is voluntarily recalling three of its products after a lab test by Health Canada found elevated levels of bacteria.

Joshua Eades is the Chief Science Officer for the Nanaimo-based producer.

He says the recall involves their Sativa House Blend, Hybrid House Blend or Indica House Blend, and affects about 400 clients.

Tilray has been in touch with most of them since the recall.

Eades says they’re doing a rigorous review of all their sanitation procedures, and they’ve made the changes to their operating procedures as a precaution.

This is the third medical marijuana recall in Canada in the past year.

Another Nanaimo-based producer, Greenleaf Medicinals, recalled a batch of their Purple Kush last April.
