North Cowichan mayor wants more participation in Earth Hour challenge

The Municipality of North Cowichan is urging residents to take part in a global challenge aimed at reducing energy consumption.

Mayor Jon Lefebure wants people to take part in Earth Hour by going off the gird on Saturday night between 8:30 and 9:30.

He says saving energy is a big part of the municipality’s plans moving forward.

Lefebure says he wants North Cowichan to improve on last year’s numbers after placing 50th out of 69 BC communities. If you are curious, Earth Hour stats will be released via social media on Monday.
