Cowichan Valley office of Canadian Cancer Society hosting “Drop in and Donate” event

The Cowichan Valley office of the Canadian Cancer Society is doing something different this year to kick off their fundraising campaign, with the “Drop in and Donate” event from until 2pm today.

Velma Baker is the Cancer Society’s longtime volunteer office manager.

Baker says some people might not even know what kind of services the society’s volunteers provide. For example, they offer rides to treatment for cancer patients.

674 Cowichan Valley clients were shuttled to treatment by volunteers last year.

Baker says she hopes everyone who typically showed up for the annual luncheon will drop by the office at 100-394 Duncan St today to donate.
