April is Autism Awareness Month in Canada… and one group supporting people and families coping with the condition says it’s hoping a simple, but innovative, idea will soon be coming to the Island.
Cineplex recently launched “Sensory Friendly Screenings” at some theatres in Canada… including the Lower Mainland..
Janet Anderson of Autism Speaks Canada says it’s proving a success.
So far, there are no Cineplex theatres on Vancouver Island running the program
, but Anderson is optimistic that it won’t be long. Cineplex has already said it’s going to double to the number of theatres offering the special screenings.
