Ladysmith sign project makes it into budget

Signs in Ladysmith will be getting a revamp in the not-so-distant future.

Mayor Aaron Stone says Council has approved a Signage Initiatives Project as part of the budget debates.

Right now the budget is calling for a tax increase that could be about 8 per cent.

But Stone says the town has applied for a grant worth around 240 thousand dollars to help pay to improve signs showing directions, parking and access.


Stone says better signs should help bring more tourists and visitors to downtown Ladysmith, which is good news for local businesses.
