CVRD’s budget includes project to raise weir at Lake Cowichan

The CVRD’s recently-passed budget includes a project to raise the weir at Lake Cowichan.

Chair Jon Lefebure says the Board agrees that more water needs to be stored in case the Cowichan River reaches dangerously low levels during the summer and early fall.

He says he hopes the Feds will help fund the project.

Wednesday’s meeting also saw the Board approve a temporary permit to Rock of the Woods organizers.

The musical festival will take place in Sahtlam from July 23rd to the 26th.
