Island Health: Cowichan Valley facing some challenges

The medical health officer for central Vancouver Island says the Cowichan Valley is facing some challenges.

Dr. Paul Hasselback recently made presentations to Duncan and North Cowichan councillors as well as the CVRD Board.

He says last year’s local area health profiles raise a couple of questions.

Hasselback says the Cowichan Valley is a blend of areas that are wealthy and those that face poverty and low socio-economic conditions.

He says all of the reports can be found on the Island Health website.
