Duncan’s Warmland House busy despite mild winter

A homeless shelter in Duncan saw a lot of visitors this past winter despite mild temperatures in the Cowichan Valley.

Shannon Bieling is with the Warmland House. She says on a nightly basis, about 10 to 12 people used the shelter.

Bieling says in a perfect world, where money wasn’t an issue, she would like to see another shelter in Duncan or Lake Cowichan.

She says the Warmland House will remain open throughout the spring and summer.
