Nanaimo-North Cowichan MLA Doug Routley finished up the week at the Legislature with another call for the province to abandon any idea of bridges on Gulf Islands.
At the beginning of the week Routley helped present a petition from Gabriola residents opposed to a bridge to Nanaimo, an idea the province is already spending 200 thousand dollars to study.
And in a statement to fellow MLAs at the end of the week he said a bridge would violate the very ideas the led to the Islands Trust.
The Gabriola bridge feasibility study is supposed to be released by the Ministry of Transportation sometime this summer.
