BC SPCA in Nanaimo takes in 50 rabbits after animal cruelty investigation

The Nanaimo branch of the BC SPCA has taken in 50 rabbits after an animal cruelty investigation last week.

Executive Director Leon Davis says their constables went to check out the property after receiving a tip about the conditions the rabbits were living in.

Davis says they normally only have space for two rabbits, so they’ve created makeshift enclosures for them, and they’ve transferred 14 to nearby SPCA shelters for adoption

He says rabbits make great house pets, and if you’re interested in adopting one, now would be a good time to call the SPCA.
