North Cowichan to get seven grand to fight invasive plant species

North Cowichan is getting a helping hand from the provincial government to get ride of some problematic plants.

The Municipality will receive a $7,000 grant to deal with invasive species that are bad for the environment and can cause harm to wildlife and people.

Shaun Chadburn is with the environmental programs department. He says some plants are more harmful than others.

North Cowichan is one of 29 communities in BC to be given money to fight invasive species.
