Ladysmith to see increase in taxes once budget finalized

The Town of Ladysmith is on the verge of finalizing this year’s budget.

Mayor Aaron Stone says Council could approve the spending and taxation plan on Monday.

He says taxes will be going up, however, not as much as first anticipated at the end of March.

Stone says a tax bump will be needed for fire hall upgrades, economic development in downtown, tourism, First Nations relations and the waterfront area…to name a few.
