Medical emergency may have caused fatal crash near Ladysmith

RCMP say a fatal accident Tuesday evening near Ladysmith may have been caused by a medical emergency.

A 52 year old man died when the car he was driving hit a hydro pole on Yellow Point Road.

Police say they were getting 911 calls from residents of the area reporting the driver had swerved off the road.

The man died at the scene, but two children, aged 6 and 8, travelling with him escaped without serious injuries.

The investigation continues, but RCMP say early reports suggest the man may have experienced a medical emergency just before crashing.

His name is not being released.
