Duncan residents, business owners to see tax increase

The budget for the City of Duncan has been finalized which means a bump in taxes.

Council recently approved a pair of bylaws: one for the budget and another to set tax rates.

Mayor Phil Kent says residential taxes will be slightly higher than the 2.5 per cent jump for businesses, which actually went down in comparison to last year.

Projects in Duncan this year include: $875,000 upgrade to the fire hall, $1,800,000 construction effort at the Canada Avenue/Ingram Street intersection and a $968,745 dike infrastructure project…to name a few.
