The Town of Lake Cowichan is under a boil water advisory.
Mayor Ross Forrest says residents should boil their water before drinking it until further notice.
Forrest says the source of the turbidity is not known at this point in time. However, One Cowichan’s Parker Jefferson has an idea as to why the levels are potentially harmful.
Island Health officials say the water is being tested.
