Cowichan Valley MLA Bill Routley wants answers from the Environment Minister over reports of a permit violation by South Island Aggregates.
At the Legislature Monday Routley said that, despite a stop work order, there were reports contaminated soil from Victoria was trucked to the company’s facility in the Shawnigan Lake area.
Mary Polak didn’t comment on the reports, but said the company is being held to its permit conditions.
Concerned Shawnigan Lake residents and their supporters plan to rally in Victoria Wednesday.
