The Director of VIU’s Centre for Pre-Confederation Treaties and Reconciliation is running for Regional Chief of the Assembly of First Nations.
Doug White is also the former Chief of the Snuneymuxw First Nation.
He says this is a critical time for the AFN, especially in light of the Tsilhqot’in Decision regarding aboriginal rights and title.
There are three other candidates also running for Regional Chief.
BC Chiefs will meet in Vancouver on June 24th and cast their votes on the 25th.
