Local governments have agreed to have the same water restrictions all across the Cowichan Valley.
Starting in May of 2016, new stage 1 water restrictions will apply to all people that live in the CVRD area, Duncan, North Cowichan, Ladysmith and Lake Cowichan.
Chief William Seymour says the Cowichan Tribes are also a part of the agreement.
Karen Robertson is with the City of Duncan. She says an awareness campaign will keep citizens up to speed on the current situation.
