UPDATE: Power restored after 9,400 left without across the Cowichan Valley

UPDATE 6:00pm: Power restored to full area. The cause for some of the nine outages is still under investigation by BC hydro, but most are listed as “tree down across wires.”

3:30 pm: Most power is expected back on between 4 and 5 pm.

11:00 am:9,400 are without power across the Cowichan Valley.

Power dropped off in nine different outages between 8 am and 10:30 am.

The estimated time of return has not been set yet for most of the outages and the cause is still under investigation.

The only outage with an estimated time of return is in Lake Cowichan, which predicts power back at 1:30 pm.
