It looks like a large brush fire Sunday near Crofton may have been person-caused.
An abandoned campfire is suspected of spreading to nearby logging slash, setting off the blaze that burned through about a hectare of brush off Grant Road near Mount Sicker Road, before crews could get it under control.
Firefighters from Crofton, Chemainus, Duncan, North Cowichan and Maple Bay were called out.
