Ladysmith Council votes against shower-only fee at community centre

There will be no half price fees for people that only want to use the showers at Ladysmith’s Frank Jameson Community Centre.

Mayor Aaron Stone says Council recently voted 4-3 against the idea of a shower-only fee at the centre.

Stone says there was some confusion about whether the idea was meant to help the homeless, but he says that’s a separate issue they will continue to look into.

He says the Town will have future discussions with the Ladysmith Resources Centre, and others, about free showers and alternatives in the community.
