Province urges water conservation as Island faces dry spell

The province is urging water users on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands to reduce water consumption.

The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations says the region is experiencing a Level 3 drought so they’re calling on all municipal, agricultural and industrial water users to voluntarily cut their consumption by 20 per cent.

For now; Duncan, North Cowichan and the CVRD are at Stage 1 water restrictions.
