The Vancouver Island and Coast Conservation Society is encouraging regional and municipal governments to work together to protect precious water sources.
President Laurie Gourlay says the drought conditions we’re experiencing should be a wake-up call.
Gourlay says they’ve sent letters to the province, as well as regional and municipal governments across the island, urging them to cooperate on establishing water regulations that extend across political boundaries.
Duncan, the CVRD and North Cowichan are at Stage 1 watering restrictions.
