Cowichan Valley in the running to host major hockey tournament

Organizers in the Cowichan Valley are waiting to hear about their bid to host the 2017 National Aboriginal Hockey Championship.

Bid committee member Gerry Giles says the week-long event would bring 400 athletes to Valley, along with team personnel and family and friends.

She says hosting the tournament is a good fit for the Cowichan Valley.


Giles says they’re expecting the announcement of the host community to come sometime in the next couple of months.
