Island Health hosting a week of events leading up to National Aboriginal Day

Island Health is marking “Aboriginal Week”, in the lead-up to Sunday’s celebration of National Aboriginal Day.

Steve Sxwithultxw is the program coordinator for aboriginal employment at Island Health. He says it’s important as a major employer in the region to recognize the day.

There are events planned for several hospitals on the Island this week.

In our area it’s on Thursday, from noon to 2pm on the front lawn of the Cowichan District Hospital.
