Land Conservancy of BC votes against forest sale in Cedar/Yellowpoint area

The Protectors of Wildwood say the fight isn’t over even though Land Conservancy of BC members defeated a resolution that would have allowed the forest in the Cedar/Yellowpoint area to be sold off.

The Conservancy is under creditor protection, and is selling properties to deal with its debts.

But Jessica Snider, who’s with the Protectors, and a member of the Conservancy, says they’re not out of the woods yet.

Snider says they’ll keep pushing for Wildwood to be transferred to another charitable trust or society.

The community raised more than a million dollars back in 2000 to help the Conservancy buy the property.
