It looks like Crofton will end up getting a new skatepark.
Gerry Hurst is one of the community coordinators behind the proposed project.
He says North Cowichan officials recently met with New Line Skateparks, the same company that built the new park in Chemainus. He says the layout of the park was a hot topic.
Hurst says there were rumblings that North Cowichan Council wanted to put the brakes on the project.
However, he says Council did end up setting aside $200,000 for the project in the Municipality’s budget.
