NDP Ferries Critic Claire Trevena says BC Ferries’ latest year-end results show they can afford to lower fares.
Net earnings topped $49 million dollars, compared to $18 million for 2014.
The North Island MLA says the company obviously made more thanks to increased fares and a fuel surcharge.
Trevena says Transportation Minister Todd Stone should be urging BC Ferries to invest some of that money back into the service, to make fares more affordable.
