Trial set for former Shawnigan Lake teacher facing sex-related charges

A planned court date next Tuesday for former Shawnigan Lake School teacher Andrew Olson has been cancelled because the case is going straight to trial.

Olson was charged in May with four counts of sexual exploitation, one count of child luring and one count of assault causing bodily harm.

While evidence is under a publication ban, the Crown has confirmed the allegations are all linked to a single complainant.

Olson has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

The trial date has been set for April 7th, 8th and 11th of 2016.
