The Islands Trust recently announced the winners of the 14th Community Stewardship Awards.
Chair Peter Luckham says three individuals and four groups out of 17 nominees were honoured.
Luckham says all the winners are noteworthy, however, there is one that sticks out for him.
He says that’s the group that protected Grace Islet from a controversial housing project on a First Nations burial ground.
