Developer of Coombs-style market for Saltair gets development permit

The developer of a proposed Coombs-style market in Saltair can cross off a development permit from his to-do list.

John Morris says he has received one from the Cowichan Valley Regional District after a minor delay.

He says the challenge is now getting vendors to commit to the lots available at the Stocking Creek Open Market.

Morris says he doesn’t see any animals on roofs in the market’s future, like the goats in Coombs, but he hopes to create a community space with a wide variety of shops.
