Stern reminder from BC Ferries as summer season kicks off

BC Ferries says they’ve seen a few too many passengers behaving badly this month, so they’re reminding people they take a zero tolerance stand on drug use and drinking at terminals or on the boats.

Deborah Marhsall of BC Ferries says the worry, of course, is that the passengers in question are going to drive.

She also says this isn’t just a problem on the major routes.

Marshall says this tends to happen every year at this time, and the numbers so far are neither worse nor better.

BC Ferries is reminding people they’ll take a zero tolerance stand to anybody caught drinking or doing drugs at a terminal or aboard a ferry. They’re also telling passengers not to hesitate about approaching a crew member if they see something worrisome.
