2 injured in SUV – motorcycle crash near Ladysmith

The RCMP’s South Island Traffic Services is investigating a Tuesday afternoon accident just outside Ladysmith.

A motorcycle with a rider and passenger rear-ended an SUV at the intersection of the Trans Canada and Oyster Sto Lo Rd, around 2 in the afternoon.

Both people from the bike had to be airlifted to hospital. The people in the SUV were not badly hurt.

The accident happened in the soutbound lanes, and tied up traffic for several hours.

RCMP say they’ve brought in collision analysts to determine what happened.

There’s been no update on the condition of the people who were injured.
