Locals among GG’s latest picks for Order of Canada

Governor General David Johnston marked Canada Day by naming 100 new appointments to the Order of Canada… including a couple of people from our area.

Salt Spring Islander Bill Henderson, best known for his work with the band Chilliwack, is being recognized for contributions to the Canadian music industry as a musician, singer, songwriter and copyright advocate.

And Sandra Scarth from Brentwood Bay is being named to the order for her commitment to children and youth, and her work on adoption and adoption counselling.
