Gabriola RCMP release more details about body found Tuesday

Gabriola Island RCMP are releasing more details about the man whose body was found near Thrasher Rock on Tuesday… although they won’t be releasing his name.

Police say the man was from the Lower Mainland.

BC Ferries security footage shows him boarding the Queen of Alberni as a walk-on passenger in Tsawwassen, around 8pm on June 29th.

He did not get off with the other passengers at Duke Point.

Police say they’re still not sure how he ended up going overboard, but they say there’s no evidence anyone else was involved.

The case has been turned over to the BC Coroners Service.
